I have two children who are still of bed-wetting age. I felt very bad that they were sleeping on vinyl covers under their sheets since it doesn't breathe. With so many 5-star reviews, I thought this would be the ultimate 5-star solution. I ordered two and was very satisfied with how cool they slept, and how soft and quiet they are. I tested how well it held water before putting them on the beds, and it held a cup-full of water for several minutes. Unfortunately, the first accident that my youngest daughter had leaked through. Granted I don't know how long it took her to wake up and call for us, and she was thoroughly soaked, but it did not hold. There was a very wet spot on the mattress. Very disappointed in the leak, but I appreciate the cooler sleep the kids get, and I think the covers will block minor spills or accidents, and will at least mitigate big ones. I do think this is as good as it gets for non-vinyl covers.

Pros:
not vinyl (a HUGE plus)
ultra thin (great for storing the extra cover)
goes onto the mattress very easily and covers the whole top portion (our other brand one leaves about an inch of mattress unprotected on the surface sides)
Cons:
does not contain wetness if left for more than a few minutes.
This cover works great for my son who wakes up if he has an accident (so we change it quickly). However, my daughter does not wake up if she has an accident so we usually find out in the mornings that her bedding is wet. By then the mattress is wet. Not soaked, but definitely wet.
If you have a child who alerts you then I don't think you'd be disappointed with this cover!
